Projects

Here at NatureSpace we work with a number of clients including developers, homeowners, planning agents and ecological consultants.

The following testimonials from some of our clients to showcase their experiences within this innovative scheme.

Bellway Homes, Gloucestershire

Newts Nearby

Bloor homes is currently undertaking an ambitious project that includes up to 250 dwellings, a community sports pavilion, outdoor sports pitches, outdoor play areas and a community orchard that meets identified local needs in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.

Conscious of their environmental impact and responsibilities, Bloor homes sought advice from an ecologist who alerted them to the risks the development could pose to great crested newts. With three ponds within 50m of the site, and a slightly more distant pond known to be used by newts, it was critical to consider potential impacts on the protected species.

A Simple, Streamlined Approach

The ecologist got in touch with NatureSpace, and once that risk was assessed, Bloor Homes joined our District Licence Scheme, which meant they could get on with construction without delay.

A Sustainable Future for All

Together with the Newt Conservation Partnership and experts from Freshwater Habitats Trust and Amphibian and Reptile Trust, we’re delivering 9ha of high-quality habitat offsite within Gloucestershire, strategically located to best benefit great crested newts as well as a host of other wildlife both now and into the future.

“It saves us an awful lot of time and money because we can basically entrust NatureSpace to undertake a site assessment for us, prepare a report, identify the risk areas, the impact areas, and then identify what ultimately the sum of money would be for mitigation to help deliver compensation mitigation off-site.”
