Maria studied Marine Biology to Masters level at university, then worked in multiple South Atlantic Overseas Territories. Here she carried out the assessment of Key Biodiversity Areas across four of the territories and was part of multiple cetacean population assessment projects. More recently she has completed a Masters in Geographic Information Systems. She joined the NatureSpace technical team in April 2022.
