Our team will be in touch once they have reviewed your application to confirm:

– We have the relevant information required to proceed.

– The maximum cost-estimate for the units required. (Note: this fee may be reduced later on if the development also uses the District Licensing Scheme for great crested newts and therefore utilises our integrated BNG package).

At this stage we will discuss which possible compensation options are available to you – these discussions will vary project to project, depending on the projects needs, impacts and location, as we seek to find the best-case tailored outcome for each development.

Once you have agreed to proceed, we will send across an invoice for a deposit (10% of your cost-estimate) which will enable us to reserve your compensation land ahead of you securing planning permission.

NatureSpace will produce a draft BNG Report at this stage, which can be submitted alongside your application as supporting evidence as many Local Planning Authorities will require evidence of how you intend to secure your BNG units ahead of validation.

If great crested newts are a required consideration in planning, we would strongly recommend using our District Licence to enable the integration of the two schemes. By choosing to do this, you can lower your BNG fee by enabling us to utilise the compensation we will create through the District Licence Scheme. You can read more about how this works here.

We will work closely with you and your ecologists throughout the planning process, making reasonable adjustments to your compensation package, as your development plans evolve.

After receiving planning permission, we will send you an invoice for your remaining balance. This is calculated as either your cost-estimate or your revised integrated quote, minus the deposit already paid.

We will issue a final NatureSpace BNG Report within 5 days of receipt of the final balance. This report (and the accompanying metric) can be used as supporting evidence alongside your Biodiversity Gain Plan, to discharge your Biodiversity Net Gain condition.

As part of the report writing process, we will register the previously reserved compensation land to your development, ready for the submission of your Biodiversity Gain Plan.
