Building on the success of our pioneering District Licensing Scheme for great crested newts—uniquely integrated into the planning system—we have been exploring new ways to support both planners and developers.

We were thrilled that our Head of Science Dr Andrew Buxton and CEO Dr Tom Tew were invited to attend Solar Energy UK’s Spring Utility-Scale Forum yesterday, where we explored a potential solution for arable-focussed ground-nesting birds and other priority species. 

The positive response and engagement from forum members was highly encouraging – and we look forward to sharing more as this initiative develops.
