We now cover all of Staffordshire!
As of September 2024, the entirely of Staffordshire is now covered by the District Licence. Following the success of the licensing scheme in other planning authority areas in Staffordshire, Cannock Chase District Council joined the Staffordshire Licence on 11th September, following Stoke-on-Trent Council who joined in January earlier this year.
Much of Staffordshire originally joined the District Licensing Scheme in 2022, where it proved successful for planning authorities, developers, and newts, and is continuing to fund the creation of high quality habitats across the county.
Since the start of the scheme in the county 47 ponds have been created or restored and over 75 hectares of terrestrial land has been made available for great crested newts and other biodiversity.
