Newt Officers ensure the smooth running of Newt Licensing in planning departments across our regions, supporting planners, developers and consultants in making the right decisions for new developments.

We are embarking on an exciting new partnership with local councils and Naturespace to provide a sustainable and strategic approach to Great Crested Newt conservation through district licencing.

We need an experienced conservationist with a passion for a strategic approach to conservation to support local planning authorities to implement the requirements of the district licencing system through the development management processes.

You will need…

• Understanding of Ecological Impact Assessments
• Experience of Great Crested Newt surveys and mitigation
• Conservation Experience
• Understanding of the planning system
